To keep it fair for all customers, we do not offer the option to ask for a specific ratio of male to female. Shrimp will be caught randomly ("whatever swims in the net"). Where possible, we will try to assure that males and females are present to allow breeding and growth of the colony. Please take into account, that it is sometimes not easy or obvious to determine the exact gender in young shrimp.
To give yourself the best chance for a growing colony we generally advise to order a group of at least 8-10 shrimp. Statistically this gives you a good chance to have both genders present. Additionally, it helps to mitigate losses during transit or the acclimatisation period.
